Connor McDavid & Tyler Myers Suspended by NHL for Cross-Checks
It was a nasty finish to the Edmonton Oilers/Vancouver Canucks game Saturday night, with a couple of notable cross-checks to the face taking most of the attention. The NHL's Department of Player Safety has ruled today that both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers will each serve a 3-game suspension.

McDavid, who was involved in a wrestling match on the ice while Canucks' forward Conor Garland pinned him down in the Vancouver zone, got up and cross-checked Garland in the face area. McDavid was issued a match penalty.
This is McDavid’s second career suspension, the last one for two games back in February of 2019.
He has 20 goals and 45 assists for 65 points in 43 games this season.
In a later tiff as part of the end-game scrum, Myers cross-checked the Oilers' Evan Bouchard in the face and received a similar penalty.

This is Myers' third career suspension.
The Oilers and Canucks have a rematch in short order, this Thursday at Rogers Place. Neither McDavid nor Myers will play in that game.
