Ducks Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Frank Vatrano

Forward Frank Vatrano is in the final year of a $3.65 million AAV deal, and he is in for a nice raise after the season. He'll be 31 going into 2025-26, and although the Anaheim Ducks have said they are interested in re-signing him, it would have to make sense for the long-term goals of the rebuilding team.

That makes Vatrano one of the top trade candidates out there as we get closer to the deadline in March, so let's have a look at three potential landing spots that make sense for the sniper who set a career-high with 37 goals last season.

Boston Bruins

Although things are looking better since their coaching change, the B's are not having the season they would have hoped, and their offense is a shell of what it once was. They sit 29th in goals per game this season at just 2.58, and they're 27th in power play goals. Vatrano found the net 13 times on the power play last season.

He also began his NHL career with the Bruins, playing his first 2 1/2 seasons there, so this would be a homecoming of sorts.

Minnesota Wild

Despite the heroics of Kirill Kaprizov this season—23 goals and 50 points in 34 games before his injury just before Christmas—the team could use more scoring up front. They are firmly in the bottom half of the league in goals per game as a team as they sit 23rd in power-play goals. Vatrano could be a primo addition for the Wild as they look to go all-in during their surprising run this season.

Toronto Maple Leafs

While a true center should be the Leafs' first priority in obtaining another forward, the ability to score goals would be just as important for any new addition up front. Toronto is in need of more secondary scoring, despite the recent heroics of Bobby McMann.
