CGY 2025 2nd Round Pick
CGY 2028 7th Round Pick
As Seravalli reports, the Flames land both Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost from the Flyers, for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, and two draft picks, including a second-rounder in 2025.
Kuzmenko waived a no-trade clause to facilitate the deal, and now goes to the Flyers to play under head coach John Tortorella. The Russian winger has four goals, and 11 assists in 37 games this season for the Flames. It makes sense why he'd be open to a move to the Flyers, as he was teammates in 2021-22 with rookie Matvei Michkov, when they both suited up for KHL's SKA Saint Petersburg.
Farabee and Frost were in their sixth season with the franchise. Farabee had appeared in 50 games this season, collecting eight goals, and 11 assists. Meanwhile, Frost, who had a shaky relationship with Torts, has tallied 11 goals and 14 assists in 49 games this season.
Kuzmenko is a pending UFA, while Frost is a pending restricted free agent, Farabee is signed through the 2027-28 season at $5 million AAV. Lastly, Pelletier is also a pending RFA who earns $800,000 against the cap. The 23-year-old forward was a 2019 first-round pick, who had 11 points in 24 games this season.
