Islanders Rumors: 4 Teams Targeting Brock Nelson
New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson is one of the top players who could be traded at the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline. With Nelson being a pending unrestricted free agent and the Islanders having a bad season, he is standing out as a prime rental candidate for contenders.
Without much surprise, Nelson is already generating serious interest. According to The Fourth Period, the Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, Boston Bruins, and Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in the veteran forward.
The Wild have been connected to Nelson for a decent chunk of the season, and it appears that they still have him on their radar. It is understandable, as they could use another top-six center as they look to go on a big playoff run this spring.
The Stars also being in the mix for Nelson is understandable. With Tyler Seguin out long-term, they could use a top-six forward to replace him. Nelson would be a great option for them, as he is a 30-goal threat who also works on the power play.
The Bruins having interest in Nelson makes all the sense in the world. After signing Elias Lindholm, the Bruins still are having serious troubles down the middle, and a player like Nelson could help change things in their top six.
As for the Maple Leafs, it is no secret that they want a center, and Nelson is one of the best options available. He would make their already excellent forward group even better and could thrive in Toronto.
