Maple Leafs Hand Out Extension to Philippe Myers


After a 10-game stretch over the past month, defenseman Philippe Myers has earned himself a new contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, as they've inked the 6'5" D-man to a two-year extension worth $850,000 per annum.

Myers has played in 11 games this season, 10 of them since Dec. 2nd, has blocked 15 shots and handed out 29 hits, while posting two assists and a plus/minus rating of +1, in 17:08 average ice time per night. 

The Leafs are the big blueliner's fourth NHL team, following stints with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville Predators and Philadelphia Flyers.  

In 169 National Hockey League games, Myers has 38 points with a +6 rating and 309 hits. He's averaged 16:28 of ice time.
