Oilers' Connor McDavid injures Wild's Johansson with ugly elbow

Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Johansson left Wednesday's game against the Edmonton Oilers with an upper-body injury, thanks to an elbow from Connor McDavid.

During the Wild's 5-3 loss to the Oilers, McDavid clipped Johansson in the second period, and the veteran forward did not return. McDavid's elbow went unnoticed, as he wasn't assessed a penalty on the play.

After the game, Johansson's Wild teammates stood up for him, and voiced their displeasure. Defenseman Jake Middleton spoke to The Athletic's Michael Russo, and vented his frustrations with the non-call. "It's horseshit," Middleton said. "I understand the refs have a hard job, but that was chickenshit. I don't care that he's the best player in the world."

McDavid has been suspended once, serving two games in 2019 for an illegal hit to the head on Nick Leddy. Johansson has a history of concussions, so the Wild are certainly concerned, as it doesn't take much once you have had a couple of concussions.

McDavid currently sits fourth in the NHL with 62 points in 41 games. Here's the play, you be the judge - suspension worthy?
