Penguins Rumors: 3 Teams Linked To Marcus Pettersson
Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Marcus Pettersson has been a very popular player in the rumor mill this season. It is understandable, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent who carries a good amount of value.
Pettersson is starting to generate serious interest, too. According to The Fourth Period, the Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and Dallas Stars are all linked to the left-shot defenseman.
The Canucks being in the mix for Pettersson is understandable. Their blueline needs a real boost, and Pettersson could be a nice fit in their top four. In addition, he would also give them another strong option for their penalty kill if acquired.
The Oilers have been looking to improve their defense, and grabbing a defenseman like Pettersson would certainly do that. He would give them a much-needed dependable defensive defenseman and could also fit into their top four.
As for the Stars, they undoubtedly could use an impactful blueliner like Pettersson. They have missed offseason departure Chris Tanev this season, and Pettersson could help fix that. This is because he would give them more overall reliability on their blueline.
It will be fascinating to see what happens with Pettersson from here, but it is clear that his market is heating up big time.
