Pittsburgh Penguins' Michael Bunting 'ok' after car accident

A scary scene in Pittsburgh on Sunday, as Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed to the media before the team's matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning that forward Michael Bunting was in a car accident outside of PPG Paints Arena.

Sullivan confirmed that Bunting, along with all of the other people involved in the car crash were ok, and there didn't appear to be any significant injuries. Bunting did wind up missing Sunday's game against the Lightning, and there's no word yet on when he'll be available to return.

Bunting, 29, has appeared in 43 games this season, scoring 13 goals and 25 points. He was acquired last season from the Carolina Hurricanes as part of the Jake Guentzel trade.

So far this season, Bunting's averaging 14:57 of ice-time per game, including over two minutes a night on the power play. The Penguins lost 5-2 to the Lightning on Sunday, and enter the week two points back of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
