Rangers Rumors: Ryan Lindgren Linked To Winnipeg Jets

The New York Rangers entered this season with high expectations, but things have been far from good for them. At this point of the season, they have an 18-20-2 record and are seventh in the Metropolitan Division standings. Due to this, they have already traded Jacob Trouba and Kaapo Kakko this season, and more moves are expected to be on the way.

One of their top trade candidates is pending unrestricted free agent Ryan Lindgren. Teams looking for a shutdown defenseman will certainly have Lindgren on their radar, and now we know one specific club is interested. According to The Fourth Period, the Winnipeg Jets are linked to Lindgren.

Hearing that the Jets are interested in acquiring Lindgren is understandable. The Jets could undoubtedly use another top-four defenseman on their roster for the post-season, and acquiring Lindgren would give them just that.

When looking at the Jets' blueline, Lindgren could be an outstanding addition to their second pairing with former Ranger Neal Pionk. In addition, due to his shutdown ability, he would be a clear option for the Jets' penalty kill if acquired.

In 35 games this season with the Rangers, Lindgren has two goals and nine points.

It will be interesting to see if the Jets end up landing Lindgren from here.
