Report: Canucks rejected one-for-one trade offer from Rangers

According to multiple reports, the Vancouver Canucks rejected a trade offer from the New York Rangers, which included Mika Zibanejad heading to the Canucks for J.T Miller.

Both players have been linked to several trades of late, as the Canucks have been dealing with some interesting dynamics within their dressing room, while the Rangers have been struggling to meet expectations this season, and are on the outside looking in at the playoff picture.

Miller, 31, is signed for $8 million AAV through the 2029-30 season. He holds a no-movement clause and certainly has all the say on where he'll approve a trade to. So far this season, Miller has recorded eight goals and 29 points, in 29 games.

Zibanejad, 31, makes $8.5 million AAV, and is also under contract through the 2029-30 season. In eerily similar fashion, Zibanejad has also scored eight times, and has tallied 24 points in 39 games so far this season.

Both players have no-movement clauses and have to agree to any deal proposed to them from their respected GM's. At this point, it feels like it's a matter of 'when' and not 'if' both key forwards will be moved before the March 7 trade deadline.
