Report: Carolina Hurricanes closing in on trade

The Carolina Hurricanes have quickly become a team to watch on the trade market. The Hurricanes are 29-16-3 on the year, and have a projected $3.8 million in deadline cap space to work with. They've recently been linked to Vancouver Canucks' forward J.T Miller, but regardless if it's Miller they acquire, several reports have surfaced stating the 'Canes are expected to be very active.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman recently reported via his 32 Thoughts blog on the Hurricanes, suggesting something could be on the front burner,  sooner than later.

7. Team to watch: Carolina. They are active, ready to pounce.

The Hurricanes have had their fair share of injuries in net, so don't be surprised if Carolina is also looking at the goaltending market, along with trying to find some more scoring prowess up front. They've consistently over the years had issues scoring goals when the games matter the most, so it's quite likely they acquire at least one, if not two, top-six forwards before the March 7 deadline.

The New York Rangers, Canucks, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, and Pittsburgh Penguins are teams to watch as potential trade partners.

The Hurricanes have won three games in a row, and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.
