St. Louis Blues place Brandon Saad on waivers
The St. Louis Blues have made a surprising move, placing veteran forward Brandon Saad on waivers. Word is the team has tried to move Saad for several weeks, however GM Doug Armstrong hasn't been able to find a trade partner, resulting in Saad hitting waivers.
The 32-year-old winger has appeared in 43 games for the Blues this season, scoring seven goals and 16 points. He's averaging 14:35 of ice-time per game, and is seeing just over a minute on the power play, while acting as a depth penalty killer for the Blues.
Saad has one more season left on his contract, earning $4.5 million AAV and does have a full no-trade clause. While trade talks haven't taken off at all for the Blues, Saad will now be open to all 31 teams.
