Update: Utah Ditches One of Its Name Finalists, Subs in New Contender

The Utah Wasatch didn't stand a chance.

All it took was one home game's worth of votes, and the Utah HC have seen the light, and have trashed 'Wasatch' from their Final 3 permanent names list, and substituted it with Outlaws.

Hey Utah hockey fans! We listened to your feedback and dug into all the Qualtrics data from last night’s survey. For the team name, it’s clear that Outlaws should be in the mix instead of Wasatch, so we’re swapping it out.

The three finalists going at it in fan balloting over the next three home dates will now be:

Utah Mammoth,
Utah Hockey Club
Utah Outlaws

We learned yesterday that the franchise had to do away with the presumed favorite, the Yeti, when a trademark issue with the company YETI Coolers couldn't be resolved.

Votes from fans at the three upcoming games at the Delta Center on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday will determine the team's permanent name starting next season.
