Video: Oilers' Corey Perry Scores Wild Goal After Nachos Thrown On Ice
Early in the third period, with the Oilers trailing 3-1, Perry capitalized on a perfectly placed pass from Leon Draisaitl, ripping a one-timer past Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson to bring his team within one.
But it wasn’t just the goal that caught everyone’s attention—it was the plate of nachos scattered on the ice near where Perry took the shot.

Thompson immediately protested to the officials, arguing that the cheesy debris distracted him and might have affected his ability to make the save.
The Capitals echoed his frustration, but after a brief review, the referees determined the nachos didn’t interfere with the play, and the goal stood.
Capitals coach Spencer Carbery later admitted the situation left him baffled. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a nachos-on-the-ice NHL game,” he said. “It’s a first.”
