3 Potential Trade Destinations for Maple Leafs' Max Domi
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to make a couple of moves before the March 7 trade deadline, which could include moving off of forward Max Domi. The pesky forward signed a four-year extension last summer, and owns a 13-team no-trade clause, but with his inconsistent performance this season, he's quickly become a trade candidate for the Leafs.
Here's three teams to keep an eye on leading up to the trade deadline:
Buffalo Sabres
The Leafs have been linked to Dylan Cozens in Buffalo and if they make a deal, Domi will need to be included to help balance out the finances. Domi's making $3.5 million against the cap, but it will be interesting to see if Buffalo is on his no-fly zone. If Toronto pulls this off, Domi could be included with either Fraser Minten or Easton Cowan.
Hearing some Max Domi chatter today (because of how bad he has been over the season up until this point) and the model backs that up.

Dreadful offensively. Has been better defensively overall this year, but the drop in playdriving makes him look replacement level at best. pic.twitter.com/YV7MvfIXyS
St. Louis Blues
The Blues are open to listening on Brayden Schenn, but it's going to take much more than just Domi to get it done. Blues GM Doug Armstrong will be looking for a plug-and-play replacement for Schenn, which Domi is, however, if these two teams make this blockbuster, look for the 2026 first-rounder to be included, likely Minten, and the Leafs' best defensive prospect Topi Niemela.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken are looking to re-tool on the fly once again ahead of the trade deadline, and GM Ron Francis is likely to cash in on some of his rentals up front. That includes Yanni Gourde and Brandon Tanev, who have both been linked to the Maple Leafs. Domi could be going the other way as part of the package, and perhaps moving out west to Seattle could be a great place for his to reset his season.
