3 Potential Trade Destinations For Predators’ Gustav Nyquist

After a big offseason of spending, the Nashville Predators have had an incredibly disappointing 2024-25 season. They are among the worst teams in the NHL standings right now, and changes are expected to be on the way.

Gustav Nyquist is one of the Predators’ top trade candidates, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent. Let’s look at three teams that could acquire him now.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators could be an interesting team to watch in the Nyquist sweepstakes. When looking at Ottawa’s roster, it is fair to argue that they could use one more secondary scoring. When playing at his best, Nyquist provides just that, and he could be a solid addition to Ottawa’s top nine because of it.

Columbus Blue Jackets

A reunion between Nyquist and the Blue Jackets could make sense for the Metropolitan Division club. The Blue Jackets are right in the playoff race and could use help on offense. Nyquist could fit in nicely in their middle six, especially if he regained last season’s scoring touch. In addition, he would give them another veteran forward who could help mentor their younger players.

New York Rangers

The Rangers have made several changes to their roster this season, and it feels likely that they are not done yet. Adding another top-nine winger should be something they consider, especially if they hope to sneak their way back into a playoff spot. Bringing in Nyquist in a low-risk trade could be worth considering, as he would have the potential to give them a bit of a boost.
