3 Potential Trade Destinations For Rangers' Ryan Lindgren

The New York Rangers have made several changes to their roster this season, but they are likely not done yet. One player who has been in the rumor mill for a good chunk of this campaign is pending unrestricted free agent Ryan Lindgren.

With the Rangers currently not holding a playoff spot, Lindgren could become a rental for a contender. Let's look at three teams who could be in the mix for the left-shot defenseman now.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets stand out as a prime potential landing spot for Lindgren. It is no secret that the Jets are looking to improve their defense, and they certainly could use help on their left side specifically. If they landed Lindgren, he could be a perfect fit on their second pairing with Neal Pionk. He would also be a clear option for their penalty kill.

Dallas Stars

The Stars recently added Cody Ceci from the San Jose Sharks, but they should not be done yet. Miro Heiskanen is out, so the Stars could undoubtedly use another top-four defenseman. While Lindgren is more of a shutdown defender, he could help provide some stability and grit to Dallas' blueline, which always comes in handy during the playoffs.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers could be another team to watch in the Lindgren sweepstakes. The Panthers love hard-hitting defensemen, and it is not a secret that the left side of their defense could use a boost. Thus, if Lindgren is made completely available by the Rangers, don't be surprised if the Cats enter the mix.
