3 Potential Trade Destinations For Blackhawks' Connor Murphy
Connor Murphy is one of the several Chicago Blackhawks players who have come up in the rumor mill as of late. Teams looking for help on the right side of their defense should be in the mix for Murphy, as he can play top-four minutes and kill penalties.
Due to this, let's discuss three potential landing spots for Murphy now.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks should not be done adding to their blueline. While they picked up a solid defender in Marcus Pettersson, their next goal needs to be to bring in a right-shot defenseman. Murphy could be excellent for Vancouver, as he would give them an upgrade over Tyler Myers for the second pairing.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers certainly should be aiming to acquire a right-shot defenseman at the deadline. Their right side needs some help, and Murphy could give them the stability they need for their second pairing. In addition, he would provide them with another clear option for their penalty kill if acquired.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators are having a solid season and are in a position to be buyers at the deadline. When looking at their group, they could use another impactful right-shot defenseman, so a player like Murphy could make sense for them. He could serve as a solid option for their second pairing but also could even worse on their bottom pairing. In either scenario, Ottawa's blueline would benefit by a Murphy addition.
