3 Potential Trade Destinations For Blackhawks' Pat Maroon
The Chicago Blackhawks are among the worst teams in the NHL, so they will undoubtedly be sellers at the trade deadline. They already traded Taylor Hall to the Carolina Hurricanes last month, but they undoubtedly will make more moves by March 7.
Pat Maroon is one Blackhawk who has a real shot of being traded before the deadline. The pending unrestricted free agent is generating interest, so let's discuss three teams that could look to add him now.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights could be a team to watch in the Maroon sweepstakes. Their bottom six could use another hard-nosed winger with experience, and Maroon would give them just that. When looking at a specific spot for him in the Golden Knights' lineup, he could slot perfectly on their fourth line with Nicolas Roy and Keegan Kolesar.
Minnesota Wild
The Wild traded Maroon to the Boston Bruins last season when they were out of the playoff race. However, they are now one of the top teams in the Western Conference and could look to bring back Maroon because of it. Maroon would give the Wild's bottom six a nice boost and another leader. The Wild could also benefit by having a three-time Stanley Cup champion in their room again.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers could also be a suitor for Maroon. When looking at their bottom six, it is clear that they could use another option for their fourth line. In addition, Maroon's extremely physical style of play could make him an amazing fit on the Cats, especially during the playoffs.
