3 Potential Trade Destinations For Blackhawks' Ryan Donato
Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Donato is one of the top trade candidates in the NHL right now. The pending unrestricted free agent is in the middle of a big season, posting 18 and 36 points in 52 games. This includes a four-point night in Chicago's Feb. 7 matchup against the Nashville Predators.
Donato is generating interest, so let's look at three potential landing spots for the 28-year-old forward.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators have a confirmed interest in Donato, so they are a clear team to watch in the sweepstakes. There is no question that they would benefit by adding more secondary scoring to their group, and Donato would provide that. If acquired, he could be a perfect fit into their top nine.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets are expected to be in the market for another forward before the deadline passes. Donato could be a great fit in their group, especially when noting that he can play both down the middle and on the wing. The Jets would not need Donato to play a big role if acquired, but he could be a perfect fit on their third line and give them more depth production.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs have been on the hunt for center help, and Donato could be a player that grabs their attention. Given how well he has played this season, he could be a strong addition to their third-line center spot if acquired.
