3 Potential Trade Destinations For Penguins' Matt Grzelcyk

The Pittsburgh Penguins are preparing to be sellers in what has been a rough 2024-25 season. Matt Grzelcyk is one of their top trade candidates, as he is a pending unrestricted free agent. Because of this, let's go over three teams who could look to acquire him now.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche have been on the hunt for defensive depth, so a player like Grzelcyk could grab their attention. He could slot in nicely on their bottom pairing and would also be a potential option for their second power play unit because of his passing skill.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets could be another team to keep an eye on in the Grzelcyk sweepstakes. The left side of their defense needs some help, and Grzelcyk could give them just that if acquired. He would be a strong pick up for their third pairing but also could jump up to the second pairing if needed.

Dallas Stars

Adding another defenseman should be on the Stars' to-do list before the deadline. Miro Heiskanen is out month-to-month, so they could use all the depth they can get on their blueline. Grzelcyk could give them that. In addition, his plethora of playoff experience could intrigue a team like Dallas.
