3 San Jose Sharks Who Could Be Traded Next
The San Jose Sharks are back to selling, as they traded veteran Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci to the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2025 first-round pick and a conditional 2025 third-round pick on Feb. 1.
With the Sharks in the middle of a rebuild, it is quite likely that they are not done making moves. Because of this, let's go over three Sharks players who could be on the move next.
Mario Ferraro
Ferraro has been in the rumor mill since last season, so he is a clear player to watch on San Jose. The Sharks don't need to force a move, as he has another year left on his contract after this season. However, if the Sharks get a big offer for the left-shot defender, he could find a new home by the deadline. Teams looking to improve their top four could be in the mix for the Toronto, Ontario native. In 54 games this season, he has five goals, 11 points, 77 blocks, and 115 hits.
Luke Kunin
Kunin is a pending unrestricted free agent who has the potential of being dealt. Playoff teams are always on the hunt for forwards who can play down the middle and on the wing. In addition, Kunin plays a heavy game and kills penalties, which adds to his appeal. In 54 games this season, he has 11 goals, 18 points, 136 hits.
Nico Sturm
Teams looking for help in their bottom six could express interest in Sturm. The 29-year-old is known for his skill at the faceoff dot, as he won 63.7% of them this season. This and his solid defensive play should lead to team calling. In 41 games this season with San Jose, he has five goals and 11 points.
