3 St. Louis Blues Trade Candidates as Deadline Approaches
The St. Louis Blues are a team to watch as the NHL's Trade Deadline is just over a month away. The Blues are 23-25-4 on the year, and are creeping lower on the standings in the Western Conference. Look for GM Doug Armstrong to sell off some assets ahead of the deadline March 7.
Here's three Blues who could be traded in the coming weeks:
Justin Faulk
Faulk has a full no-trade clause this season, which goes down to a 15-team list next season. The right-handed blueliner is owed $6.5 million against the cap, which isn't astronomical considering he's posted 19 points in 48 games this season, and is only two years removed from a 50-point campaign. The Blues would have to retain some salary in a deal, due to the two years remaining on his deal, but consider Faulk someone Armstrong has very high on his 'wish list' to trade.

Ryan Suter
Several contending teams will be looking for depth on the blueline, and more specifically, a veteran steady presence. Insert, Ryan Suter. The 40-year-old is making the league minimum this season in St. Louis, and so far this year, has nine points in 52 games, while playing over 20 minutes a night. Suter would be perfectly served on the third pair, playing around 15-17 minutes per game, and look for Armstrong to work with the veteran defenseman to find him a suitor that Suter approves.
Radek Faska
The 31-year-old center is a pending unrestricted free agent who makes $3.2 million against the cap. Faska holds just a five-team no-trade clause, and is very likely to be moved before the deadline. The defensive minded center has just nine points in 40 games this season.
