Blues' Brayden Schenn Opens Up About Recent Trade Buzz

St. Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn has hit the 1000th game mark, meanwhile off the ice, the trade rumors continue to swirl like crazy. Schenn's heard them all it appears, as the Blues' captain recently commented publicly about the trade buzz for the first time.

Schenn caught up with Tom Gulitti of NHL.com, and opened up about all the trade speculation, as he's been rumored to be a prime trade candidate, despite having a no-trade clause. "Honestly, it's like the times I've gotten traded, I didn't expect to get traded," he said Thursday, according to NHL.com's Tom Gulitti. "So, you really never know. I've always said I love it here in St. Louis.

"It's a great organization, a great place to play. I definitely know it's a business and that just comes with the flows of kind of where we're positioned, five points out of the playoffs. But it's the trade deadline, so some people make rumors. ... You just take it a day at a time and just focus on your game and play."

Schenn has been moved twice in his career and with the Blues likely missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs, GM Doug Armstrong could look to cash in a re-tool his roster, and relief himself of Schenn's $6.5 million AAV through the 2027-28 season.

There's been plenty of speculation indeed, as reports have surfaced stating he'd like to team up with his brother Luke on a playoff-bound team, and there's been lots of buzz that the Toronto Maple Leafs are going hard after the former Stanley Cup winner.

The Schenn brothers played together for four seasons in Philadelphia, so we'll have to wait and see before the trade deadline March 7 if a team is able to pull it off, and reunite the family.
