He's earned another chance to showcase his skills at the NHL level, especially with Trent Frederic sidelined.
Viel's recall addresses the physical element, replacing Tufte's role with a more robust presence. Known for his physicality and willingness to engage, Viel brings a blend of scoring and toughness to the Bruins' lineup.
Viel has 26 points, 130 penalty minutes, and a +15 rating in 51 games with Providence. In his previous NHL game this season, he recorded a fight and 8:29 of ice time.
These roster adjustments come at a critical juncture for the Bruins, who are still battling for playoff contention.
