Canada's McDavid isn't a fan of 4 Nations Face-Off: 'There's great players sitting at home'
Canada's Connor McDavid got rather candid with the camera on Wednesday as his team was meeting with the media after practice, and before their big showdown Thursday against the Americans.
McDavid was asked if he'd like to see the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament return, and his response wasn't what many expected."I'd love to see all countries represented. It's great that it's best-on-best, 4 Nations [...] but there's some great players sitting at home."

McDavid brushed off the 4 Nations and made a point that there's too many great players sitting at home watching this, instead of representing their countries. He's of course talking about Leon Draisaitl and Team Germany, Czechia, Russia - if they ever get invited back, and several others.
McDavid has recorded two goals and two assists through three games of action for Canada, and will be in Italy next year for the Olympic games. Heading into the final, Sidney Crosby and Zach Werenski were leading the tournament in scoring with five points in three games each.
Good for McDavid to stick up for the other countries who didn't get invited, including Czechia, the most recent World Championship winners. David Pastrnak saw McDavid's quote and made sure to send him some love.
Well said 👏
