Canadiens Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Joel Armia

The Montreal Canadiens have taken a step in the right direction this season. However, after winning just two out of their last 10 games, their playoff hopes have undoubtedly dropped significantly.

As a result of this, the Canadiens are likely to be sellers, and pending unrestricted free agent Joel Armia is one of their top trade candidates. Let's look at three teams that could make a push for the 2011 first-round pick.

Colorado Avalanche

One of the Avalanche's top objectives at the deadline should be to improve their bottom six. It is no secret that they could use more depth offensive production, and Armia provides just that. He also would give them another option to consider for their penalty kill if acquired.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes are likely not done making changes to their roster, even after acquiring superstar forward Mikko Rantanen last month. They could use another veteran bottom-six forward, so a player like Armia could grab their attention. He could slot in nicely on their fourth line.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning could also be a team to watch in the Armia sweepstakes. They are receiving very little offensive production from their bottom six, so Armia could be a solid low-risk addition for them. He could work on either their third or fourth line and also see time on their penalty kill.
