Canadiens Rumors: Christian Dvorak Standing Out As Trade Candidate

The Montreal Canadiens have lost eight of their last 10 games, including in each of their last three games. With this, their playoff hopes are decreasing rapidly, and they are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline because of it.

With the Canadiens likely to be sellers, one player who is standing out as a potential trade candidate is forward Christian Dvorak.

Dvorak has come up in the rumor mill often over the last few seasons, but the Canadiens have yet to trade him. However, with Dvorak now being a pending unrestricted free agent on a struggling Habs club, the possibility of him being dealt by March 7 is undoubtedly there. This is especially so if the Canadiens are open to retaining a portion of his salary.

Playoff teams looking for help in their bottom six could take a shot on Dvorak as a rental. He also can kill penalties, which undoubtedly adds to his overall appeal.

In 56 games this season with the Canadiens, Dvorak has six goals, 17 points, and 50 blocks. While it has been a quiet year for him offensively, he has shown in the past that he can contribute more when playing at his best.

We will need to wait and see if Dvorak ends up being on the move before the trade deadline from here.
