Ducks “Haven’t Shied Away” From Taking Trade Calls on Trevor Zegras
They haven't shied away from taking calls on Trevor Zegras... He hasn't had the type of season they anticipated... They wanted to see an incline in his offensive poroduction becuase it would help the trade talk... But he is available.
Pagnotta added that if nothing happens before the March 7th trade deadline, it will be re-visited in the summer and something could take place then.
Zegras, in 31 games this season, has six goals and nine assists for 15 points, strangely enough, the exact same numbers he had through the 31 games that he was able to play last season.
The former 9th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft started out his career with a bang, accumulating dozens of highlight-reel plays, and scoring 23 goals with over 60 points in each of his first two seasons. But injuries and poor performance have dogged him since then.
Nevertheless, he's still only 23, and since he's already shown those flashes in the NHL of excellence on the offensive end, there will be some teams that feel they'd be able to unlock what's in there, and turn him loose once again.
"They don't wanna give up on him, they still value him highly... (But) Anaheim continues to listen," says Pagnotta.
