Kings' Drew Doughty named to Team Canada for 4 Nations Face-Off
Team Canada has found a replacement for Alex Pietrangelo, as Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty has been added to the team for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament. Pietrangelo had been playing through an injury of late for the Vegas Golden Knights, and decided to withdraw from the tournament to focus on his health for a Stanley Cup run.
Doughty, on the other hand, just worked his way back to the Kings' lineup, and hasn't skipped a beat. He made it clear back in January that he wanted to be on the team, and stated he wasn't looking for a two-week break away from the ice. "I'm still hoping I have that outside chance to play in 4 Nations," the Kings defenseman said at the time. "I don't want to break, I want to play. So, we'll see what happens."

Doughty made his season debut on Jan.29, thanks to an ankle injury during training camp. Through his five games since returning to the lineup, he's averaged a whopping 26:07 of ice-time per game. It became obvious quick, Doughty was back, and back to his old self.
The London, ON native represented Canada at the Olympics in 2010 and 2014, and played in the last best-on-best event in 2016 at the World Cup of Hockey.
Team Canada kicks off the tournament on Wednesday, when they'll take on Team Sweden to open up the two-week showdown.
