Maple Leafs Rumors: 5 Trade Candidates Who Could Be Moved By Toronto

Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving is 100% going to make a trade, or two, before the 2025 NHL trade deadline March 7. It's been widely reported Treliving is looking for a middle-six centre and a depth defenceman before the deadline, and while a lot of attention is on who is coming in, perhaps it should be on who could be going out.

Here's five Maple Leafs who are prime trade candidates ahead of the deadline, and arguably most likely to be moved by Treliving before early March:

David Kampf

The fourth-line center is overpriced at $2.4 million AAV, which is one of the only mistakes Treliving has made so far in his tenure as Leafs' GM. Kampf also has a 10-team no-trade clause, which complicates any move. He's not necessarily a trade candidate to be moved to a rebuilding team, and better suited for a team looking to re-tool, and add a strong penalty killer to their bottom six.

Nick Robertson

Robertson wanted out last summer and the Leafs said 'no', now he could be getting his wish before March 7. Craig Berube has been impressed with Robertson's work ethic, especially for an undersized winger, but he hasn't been able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season. Robertson has eight goals and 12 points in 47 games this year, and the Leafs will be selling hope in any trade involving Robertson.

Conor Timmins

With Philippe Myers and Simon Benoit both getting extended in the last little while, Timmins appears to be the odd man out, and the defenceman who is getting traded when Treliving lands a more proven NHLer for his blueline. At $1.1 million and a pending RFA, Timmins holds some trade value, as he's shown throughout this season he has strong offensive instincts, and is becoming a more physical presence on the back end.

Max Domi

So far, there's no doubt Treliving would like a do-over here, after giving Domi a four-year contract. Yes, $3.5 million AAV isn't the absolute worst, but considering Domi has done very little this season, it's becoming a hard pill to swallow, and a hard player to trade. He has a 13-team no-trade clause, and if he gets moved, will have to be partnered with a top prospect to get another GM to bite.

Connor Dewar

Dewar's banged up at the moment, but he'll be back in the coming weeks. The defensive-minded center has been mostly spotted on the Leafs' fourth line, and is battling with the likes of Pontus Holmberg and Kampf for minutes. At $1.1 million and an RFA at season's end, there's still some value there for the 25-year-old.
