Maple Leafs Rumors: Max Domi could be on his way out of Toronto
Even though Max Domi signed a five-year contract extension last summer with the Toronto Maple Leafs, his tenure could be coming to an end within the next few weeks. Domi's name continues to make the rounds within trade rumor mills, as the Leafs continue to try and find a spot for Domi in the lineup.
Domi's appeared in 47 games for the Leafs this season, only scoring three times, and adding 17 assists for 20 points. He's under contract through the 2027-28 season at $3.75 million AAV, and owns a 13-team modified no-trade clause. So far this year under Craig Berube, Domi has averaged 14:39 of ice-time per game, ranking him seventh among Leafs' forwards.
Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli commented on Domi's future in Toronto, and it made is vastly clear he should be put on notice for his inconsistent play this year:
There's no doubt Toronto needs an upgrade on their 3rd line, but could the mean it's time to move on from Max Domi?

Domi's a very likely trade candidate heading into the March 7 trade deadline, as Leafs' GM Brad Treliving looks to upgrade his lineup, including aspirations of finding a different 3C, after that slot was for Domi to begin this season.
