Canadiens Recall Exciting Prospect, Announce Kirby Dach Injury

The Montreal Canadiens have made a roster move, as they have recalled forward Owen Beck from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Laval Rocket.

Beck, 21, has appeared in 47 games this season with the Rocket, where he has 13 goals, 32 points, 41 penalty minutes, and a plus-11 rating. He also has played in his first six NHL games with the Habs this season, where he has zero points and a minus-2 rating.

The Canadiens selected Beck with the 33rd overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The Peterborough, Ontario native is considered one of the Canadiens' most promising prospects, so all eyes will certainly be on him during his latest opportunity on the Canadiens' NHL roster.

Beck is currently in his first professional season after playing his final campaign in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2023-24. In 57 games split between the Peterborough Petes and Saginaw Spirit, he had 34 goals to go along with 81 points.

In addition to Beck being recalled, the Canadiens have also announced that forward Kirby Dach has suffered a lower-body injury and is still being evaluated.

Dach, 24, has appeared in 57 games this season with the Canadiens, where he has 10 goals, 22 points, and a minus-29 rating.
