Montreal Canadiens & LA Kings Emerging As Potential Trade Partners
After winning just two out of their last 10 games, the Montreal Canadiens' playoff hopes have decreased immensely. Due to this, they are expected to be sellers, and one of their top trade candidates is pending unrestricted free agent Joel Armia.
The Los Angeles Kings could be a team to watch when it comes to Armia, as it is no secret that they are looking to improve at the right wing position.
If the Kings acquired Armia, he would have the potential to fit in very nicely in their bottom six. In addition, because of his strong defensive play, he would be a clear choice for their penalty kill if acquired as well.
Armia is quietly having a solid year in a bottom-six role with the Canadiens, as he has 10 goals, 14 assists, 24 points, and a plus-1 rating in 57 games. He also has been providing some grit in the process, as his 76 hits on the season effectively demonstrate. Thus, the 6-foot-3 winger could give the Kings a bit of everything in their bottom six if acquired.
We will need to wait and see if the Kings end up making a big push for Armia from here. On paper, it looks like there could be a good match here.
