New York Rangers' Igor Shesterkin To Miss Time With Injury
According to the New York Post's Mollie Walker, New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin will be sidelined for the next one to two weeks due to an upper-body injury.
With Shesterkin now sidelined, the Rangers have announced that goaltender Dylan Garand has been recalled from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Shesterkin last played for the Rangers during their Feb. 7 matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he stopped 23 out of 26 shots in a 3-2 loss.
The Rangers play their final game before the 4 Nations Face-Off on Feb. 8 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. They then will not play again until Feb. 22 against the Buffalo Sabres due to the break. Thus, if Shesterkin recovers on schedule, he could miss only one game.
The Rangers will be hoping that everything goes smoothly with Shesterkin's injury recovery, as they are among the several teams fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Thus, they need their star goalie healthy to help their chances of getting back into the playoffs.
Shesterkin, 29, has appeared in 39 games this season with the Rangers, where he has 18-19-2 record, a 2.87 goals-against average, and a .906 save percentage.
