NHL Rumors: Islanders & Kings Becoming Possible Trade Partners

The New York Islanders have started to turn things around, but they still do not hold a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Because of this, it is possible that they will be sellers at the 2025 NHL trade deadline, and Kyle Palmieri is one of their top trade candidates.

The Kings, on the other hand, are looking to add to their roster before the playoffs. It has been established that they want to add a scoring right-shot forward, so they are standing out as a prime potential landing spot for Palmieri.

If the Kings acquired Palmieri from the Islanders, he would be a strong addition to their middle six. In addition, due to his ability to produce offense, he would be a clear option for their power play as well.

Palmieri, 34, is a pending unrestricted free agent, so he could very well be made available if the Islanders are unable to jump up the standings. In 55 games this season, he has 16 goals to go along with 37 points. This is after he had 30 goals and 54 points in 82 games with the Islanders during the 2023-24 campaign.

It will be interesting to see if the Kings end up making a splash for Palmieri. On paper, the fit looks great, as he would give the Kings a much-needed boost on offense.
