NHL Trade Rumors: Bruins' Expected Asking Price For Brandon Carlo
According to RG.org’s Jimmy Murphy, Boston’s expected asking price includes a roster player and either a 2025 second-round pick or a top prospect.
While the Bruins are not actively shopping the 28-year-old blueliner, they are open to discussions.
A Western Conference executive told RG.org, “Who wouldn’t want a top-four, 6-foot-5, right-shot, stay-at-home defenseman?” Carlo’s $4.1 million cap hit through 2026-27 adds to his appeal for contenders looking for stability on the blue line.

Carlo’s performance this season has been inconsistent, raising questions about his trade value. He is averaging 18:40 of ice time, his lowest since his rookie year, and his defensive metrics, including a 45.6 CF% and -9.0 expected rating, rank last among Boston’s full-time defensemen.
Despite these struggles, teams view him as a valuable playoff addition due to his size, experience, and ability to play tough defensive minutes. The Vancouver Canucks, Dallas Stars, and Edmonton Oilers have all expressed interest, with the Oilers particularly drawn to Carlo’s contract security.
“It’s not surprising teams are calling,” a source told RG.org. “Boston isn’t necessarily looking to move him, but they know what he’s worth.”

The Bruins’ deadline approach remains fluid, as they are also fielding offers for Trent Frederic and Morgan Geekie.
While Brad Marchand’s name has surfaced in rumors, sources suggest Boston is unlikely to move its captain. With seven games remaining before the deadline and a 15% playoff probability, the Bruins face some big decisions.
If they remain in contention, they may hold onto Carlo, but if their struggles continue, a trade could be on the table. “They know it’s time,” one league executive said. “And I think there’s a lot more in play than people realize.”
