Rangers Rumors: 2 Teams Targeting Ryan Lindgren

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren is a clear trade candidate as we continue to inch closer to the 2025 NHL trade deadline. The Rangers are in the process of retooling their roster, and with Lindgren being a pending unrestricted free agent, he could very well be dealt.

Interest in Lindgren is starting to pick up, too, as The Fourth Period reported that the Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars are two teams linked to the shutdown defender.

The Jets are having an excellent 2024-25 season, as their 37-14-3 record and are at the top of the NHL standings. However, it is no secret that they want to add to their blueline, so bringing in a defenseman like Lindgren could be massive for them. When looking at their current group, Lindgren could slot nicely on their second pairing with Neal Pionk and work on their penalty kill.

The Stars, on the other hand, recently acquired defenseman Cody Ceci from the San Jose Sharks. While this is the case, it is clear that they still could use another solid defenseman for the playoffs. Thus, it is easy to understand why they have a blueliner like Lindgren on their radar.

It will be interesting to see if the Rangers end up dealing Lindgren from here, but the Jets and Stars are two clear teams to watch in the sweepstakes.
