Rangers Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Reilly Smith
With the 4 Nations Face-Off break here, the New York Rangers currently do not hold a playoff spot. Because of this, there is an expectation that they will sell off a few of their players before the trade deadline.
One player who has been creating chatter in the rumor mill is Rangers winger Reilly Smith. Because of this, let's look at three teams who could look to acquire him now.
Minnesota Wild
The Wild could be a team to watch in the Smith sweepstakes. When looking at their roster, it is apparent that they could use another middle-six winger with experience. Smith could be a nice replacement for Vinnie Hinostroza on the second line and would also be a clear option for their power play because of his playmaking skills.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings have been looking to improve at the right wing position, so Smith could be a player who grabs their attention. He could fit nicely into their middle six and give them another player with plenty of postseason experience.
Vegas Golden Knights
The potential of a reunion between Smith and the Golden Knights can't be ruled out. The 33-year-old winger was an original misfit and put together a very impressive six-year stint with the Golden Knights. In addition, Vegas undoubtedly needs help on the wing, and Smith could give them just that.
