Report: Canucks' Carson Soucy available in trade talks
The Vancouver Canucks continue to discuss several trades ahead of the March 7 deadline, with defenseman Carson Soucy quickly becoming prime trade candidate #1.
Soucy, 30, has a full-no trade clause this season and would need to approve any move. The towering defenseman is signed through the 2025-26 season at $3.25 million AAV, and so far this season through 51 games, Soucy has averaged 19 minutes per game, recorded eight points, has landed 74 hits, and blocked 83 shots.

The arrival of Marcus Pettersson and the improved play of Elias Pettersson has made the left side tougher to crack for Soucy.

Soucy is 6-foot-5, and a native of Viking, AB. He brings size and strength to the blueline, and could certainly be someone a contending team takes a look at. No word yet if the Canucks are willing to retain any salary, but at the end of the day, Soucy has full control of where he gets moved, limiting GM Patrik Allvin's leverage in trade talks. The Canucks fanbase just saw the same scenario play out with J.T Miller being moved to the New York Rangers, and were underwhelmed by the return, the same could be said after Soucy gets moved.
