Report: The Schenn Brothers Could Be United in Trade

We know that St. Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn has shockingly become a trade candidate as the team could be looking to really shake things up in the midst of another disappointing season. But a new report from insider Elliotte Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada says that Brayden might not be the only Schenn to be moved at the deadline, and that there could be a brotherly reunion coming.

Teams have talked about uniting the Schenn brothers, Brayden from St. Louis and Luke from Nashville. Maybe acquiring them in separate trades to bring them together. We'll see if anyone can do it.

Brayden, 33, still has three seasons to go on a $6.5 million cap hit, while Luke, 35, still has one year left after this one on a $2.75 million cap hit with the Nashville Predators.

The Schenns played together with the Philadelphia Flyers for three seasons from 2012 through 2015 before older brother Luke was traded in the middle of the 2015-16 season to the LA Kings (ironically, the team that drafted Brayden 5th overall in 2009). Luke was also the 5th overall selection the year before that, by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

As for Brayden, he says he hasn't been approached yet by the Blues about any trade possibilities at the moment. He does have a full no-trade clause, so he can control his destiny. But his name is certainly out there, more so than Luke's at this point.
