Ryan Hartman Facing Lengthy Suspension for Intent to Injure on Stützle
With a lengthy suspension history already on his record, the Minnesota Wild's Ryan Hartman has been offered an in-person hearing from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for his actions in Saturday night's game. That means a suspension of greater than five games is on the table.

Hartman received a match penalty for intent to injure after this play, in which he drove the Ottawa Senators' Tim Stützle's head down into the ice straight off a face-off. The Wild forward was in trouble with the refs earlier in the game as well, receiving a four-minute penalty for roughing and then embellishing. He finished the night with 19 minutes in penalties, giving him 60 on the year.
Hartman has already been suspended four times in his 11-year NHL career, and fined seven times. His most recent suspension came near the end of last season when he threw his stick at officials.Hartman can waive his right to in-person hearing and do it via phone instead. #mnwild, however, are in Boston ‘til Tuesday night, so it would be an easy commute to NYC to meet with NHL’s DoPS

Last season, Hartman blatantly admitted to Winnipeg's Cole Perfetti that he high-sticked him in the mouth on a faceoff.
Winnipeg's Cole Perfetti on Ryan Hartman's high-sticking fine: "He said, ‘No disrespect, nothing against you… it had to happen, something had to happen for what happened to Kaprizov there,' ... That’s what he thought he needed to do to get back at us."https://t.co/70gaVrC090 pic.twitter.com/rXBip8JuMy
