Ryan Hartman Files Appeal of 10-Game Suspension
It was the longest suspension for on-ice conduct handed out in the NHL since 2018. Now the NHLPA, on behalf of Minnesota Wild's Ryan Hartman, is officially appealing the 10-game ban slapped on him by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.
Wild's Ryan Hartman is appealing his 10-game suspension for driving Tim Stutzle's head into the ice after a face-off.

The appeal will be directly with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, and then if the ban still remains at six games or more, he can further appeal to a neutral arbitrator.
The suspension was handed down earlier this week after Hartman slammed the head of Tim Stutzle down into the ice right off a faceoff, leaving the Ottawa Senators forward bloodied.

Frank Corrado isn't too impressed with Hartman's appeal, saying on The Athletic's Hockey Show podcast, "If I was Gary Bettman, I'd tell Hartman after the appeal is heard, 'I'm going to tack on an extra two games to your suspension for wasting my time!'."
There's little sympathy for Hartman around the sport, as this is his FIFTH suspension for on-ice conduct, and the DoPS has been forced to discipline him once for about every 60 games he's played over the course of his 11-year career.
