Sabres Rumors: 2 Suitors Named For Dylan Cozens
Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens is one of the top trade candidates in the NHL right now. With the Sabres struggling this season, they are open to making changes, and Cozens has been their most-talked-about player.
In a recent article for The Fourth Period, NHL insider David Pagnotta reported that the Chicago Blackhawks and Calgary Flames are two specific clubs interested in Cozens.
Hearing that the Blackhawks are in on Cozens is not too surprising. It is no secret that they need to upgrade their forward group to help out Connor Bedard. If the Blackhawks added Cozens, he would give them a strong option for their second-line center spot. However, he also can play the wing, so playing on Bedard's line could also be an option if he is acquired.
The Flames recently made a big move with the Philadelphia Flyers, acquiring both Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee. While this is the case, they still could use another top-six center, and Cozens would give them that. He also would fit into their identity, as he is not only skilled but also known for his hard-nosed style of play.
Cozens also makes sense as a target for both teams because he would be far more than a rental. He is signed until the 2029-30 season, so he would become a long-term addition for either club.
It will be intriguing to see if the Blackhawks or Flames end up acquiring Cozens before the deadline passes from here.
