Sharks Rumors: 4 Teams In The Mix For Mario Ferraro

The San Jose Sharks have already gotten their selling started, as they recently traded Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci to the Dallas Stars. However, with the Sharks rebuilding and being at the bottom of the NHL standings, more moves are expected to be on the way.

Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro is their top trade candidate leading up to the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline, and there is plenty of interest in him right now. According to The Fourth Period, the Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, and Winnipeg Jets are all linked to the left-shot defenseman.

With Ferraro being a steady defensive defenseman who can play top-four minutes and kill penalties, it is understandable that he is generating interest from these four clubs. Each of them currently holds playoff spots, and Ferraro would be a massive addition to any of their blueliners.

Ferraro would be more than a rental for any of these teams, too, as he carries an affordable $3.25 million cap hit until the end of next season. This naturally adds to his appeal big time.

Ferraro, 26, has appeared in 57 games this season with the Sharks, where he has five goals, 11 points, 81 blocks, and 117 hits. This is after he had three goals and set new career highs with 18 assists and 21 points last season.

It will be fascinating to see what happens with Ferraro from here, but these four teams are clearly teams to watch in the sweepstakes.
