Sharks trade Mikael Granlund & Cody Ceci to Stars for two draft picks
The San Jose Sharks continue to make moves as GM Mike Grier has traded forward Mikael Granlund and defenseman Cody Ceci to the Dallas Stars. ESPN's Kevin Weekes was the first to report the deal.

The full trade details, reported by Darren Dreger of TSN include a first-round and a fourth-round pick heading to the Sharks, which can turn into a third rounder.

Granlund, 32, is a versatile forward who can play the wing, or down the middle. He's having a great seasons with the Sharks to this point, scoring 15 goals, and 45 points in 52 games. Granlund is in the final season of his contract, earning $5 million AAV. He did not have any trade protection.

Ceci, 31, is also in the final year of his contract, earning $3.2 million AAV. He doesn't have any trade protection, and has been solid in his first season in San Jose. The veteran right-handed blueliner has averaged 21:46 of ice-time, recording four goals and 15 points in 54 games so far this year.
