TSN's Updated Trade Bait Board Features 8 Centers in Top 15
We're coming down the stretch, with only one week to go before D-Day on the NHL calendar. March 7th at 3pm ET is the trade deadline.
TSN has updated its Trade Bait Board on Friday with the latest listing of who could be on the move. And it's no surprise that centers dominate the list, with three in the Top 5 and eight in the Top 15. Here's the rundown, starting with a couple of Brocks:
- Brock Nelson, New York Islanders, C
- Brock Boeser, Vancouver Canucks, RW
- Mikko Rantanen, Carolina Hurricanes, RW
- Brayden Schenn, St. Louis Blues, C
- Scott Laughton, Philadelphia Flyers, C
- Carson Soucy, Vancouver Canucks, LD
- Seth Jones, Chicago Blackhawks, RD
- Rasmus Ristolainen, Philadelphia Flyers, RD
- Rickard Rakell, Pittsburgh Penguins, RW
- Brandon Tanev, Seattle Kraken, LW
- Ryan Donato, Chicago Blackhawks, C
- Trent Frederic, Boston Bruins, C

The Canucks have apparently offered him a five-year, $40 million deal, but Boeser wants more security and longer term.
Vancouver needs goal scoring if they hope to continue to make a playoff push. Would they truly consider trading Boeser, or just consider him as their own 'rental' down the stretch?
Brayden Schenn is one of the hottest names out there at the pivot these days, but the Blues are asking a hefty ransom to trade their captain. The Toronto Maple Leafs are reported to be seriously considering it, however. Laughton is also on their list.
Some of the other names on the Trade Bait board have baggage attached: Frederic just went down to injury and is out for weeks, while Cozens has been a disappointment and has five more years on his deal. But the Sabres continue to ask a high price for him.
On defense, Jones' trade possibilities are hampered by his $9.5 million cap hit which runs several more years.
One name that has dropped way down the TSN list, to #25, is Elias Pettersson. And that's likely due to the fact that teams just aren't feeling good about acquiring him at this point.
And then there's Rantanen. His story is probably the most intriguing of all. Some of the myths around his status were dispelled Thursday night.
Seven days and counting.
