Utah Hockey Club & Minnesota Wild Complete Trade

The Utah Hockey Club has acquired forward Sammy Walker from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations.

Before this trade, Walker had spent all of this season down in the American Hockey League (AHL) with Minnesota's AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild. In 30 games this season with the AHL squad, he had two goals, 11 points, 23 penalty minutes, and a plus-3 rating.

While Walker has yet to play in an NHL game this season, he made appearances with Minnesota during the 2022-23 and last season. In 13 career NHL games, the 5-foot-10 forward has one goal, one assist, four hits, and a minus-4 rating.

With this move, Utah HC is adding to their forward depth, while also not giving up anything in the process. Perhaps Walker could even see some time on Utah's NHL roster following this move, but at a minimum, he will be a decent addition for their AHL affiliate.

We will need to wait and see if Walker can make an impact with Utah from here.
