Washington Capitals' Prospect Cam Allen Suspended by OHL After Impaired Driving Charge

Current London Knights defenseman and Washington Capitals 2023 fifth-round pick Cam Allen has been suspended by the Ontario Hockey League, following Allen's arrest for impaired driving.

Per the OHL release
The Ontario Hockey League today announced that London Knights player Cam Allen has been suspended pending the outcome of a League review into the events of February 8, 2025 when he was charged by the London Police Service with offences related to impaired driving.
Allen was charged with Impaired operation of a conveyance; Impaired operation exceed blood alcohol concentration; Failure to remain; Failure to report accident; and Novice driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero.

“In our discussions, we understand that Cam takes this matter very seriously and has assured us that he will fully cooperate with the court process,” a Knights statement said. “Cam understands the responsibility that comes with being a member of this organization and a representative of our community.” The Capitals drafted Allen 136th overall in 2023. He would go on to sign his entry-level contract on July 5, 2024 after his third season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm.
