3 Boston Bruins Contract Extension Candidates
The 2025 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now. Yet, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.
In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing on the Boston Bruins.
Morgan Geekie
Geekie has blossomed into a very important part of the Bruins' roster this season, so it would not be surprising if they extended the 26-year-old forward. He has found a home on the Bruins' first line with David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha and is having a strong season because of it. In 64 games, he has scored a career-high 24 goals and has 37 points.
Mason Lohrei
Lohrei is one of the young players the Bruins are building their blueline around as they embark on this next era of their franchise. The pending restricted free agent is due for a raise from his current $925,000 cap hit and has the potential to be extended before the end of the season. In 64 games this season, he has set new career highs with five goals, 24 assists, and 29 points.
Henri Jokiharju
While the Bruins sold a lot of their top talent at the deadline, they also brought in Jokiharju from the Buffalo Sabres, who is a pending unrestricted free agent. Since then, Jokiharju has found a home on the Bruins' top pairing, so it is fair to wonder if they could try to extend him. In five games with the Bruins since being traded there, he has one assist and a plus-1 rating.
